A few years ago, I met some performers from New Zealand, that provided an
assembly program for schools in that country. They told me how it was
funded. The children brought $2 to school for an assembly. The
performing artist was paid half of what was collected. No children were
punished, if they were unable to pay. All children attended the
assembly. Instead of the school spending funds, they actually earn some! I tried this out
once in a school in Hawaii. There the children brought $1.25 to pay for
the assembly. I was paid in quarters! In this time of financial
difficulties for schools everywhere, I am willing to perform assemblies, as a fund raiser for
schools. I am also willing to help the schools sell my award winning
CD's and refund $5. of every sale back to the school. It is important
to me to keep the tradition of storytelling and music alive in our
schools. Please call me for more details. Al Hirsch 206-283-3726
