with Performing Artist and Educator Alleyoop AKA Allan Hirsch
Content of Program
1. Vocal Exercises
Students will learn simple vocal exercises based on the Italian Opera
Chants. Each lesson will expand upon these exercises adding
additional variations in order to help students with vocal confidence
and skill. This includes proper breathing technique.
(5-10 minutes of each class)
2. Music Theory Students will be singing scales as well as note skipping
(5 -10 minutes of each class)
3. Songs Students will learn and practice songs from a wide
variety of traditional schools songs including Woody Guthrie, slave
songs, workers songs, pioneer songs, protest songs, multicultural
songs, as well as novelty songs.
(10-20 minutes of each class)
4. Performance Preparation Students will prepare a presentation for parents to be held at a later date
5. Lyrics and Songwritting Students will have
the opportunity to create lyrtics to existing folk songs as well as
creating their own lyrics and original songs.
6. Recording Long term possibility of recording songs for a School CD
